 | | LORDI announce UK dates - 3:03 am, 2nd Jun 2006 | Fresh from winning the Eurovision Song Contest, Finnish Monster Rockers LORDI have just confirmed four shows for later in the year. They will play Nottingham’s Rock City on 26th October, Birmingham (27th), Glasgow (30th) and London (31st). Tickets are now on sale from Ticketmaster . You can also catch the band at the DOWNLOAD FESTIVAL where they are playing the Gibson/Myspace stage on Sunday 11th June.

These are: Sheffield (9th), Cardiff (13th), Birmingham (14th) and at the London Barfly on the 15th. Tickets are on sale now from the usual ticket outlets.

The event, which takes place on the weekend of 8th & 9th July in Balado, Kinross already sold out in record time when tickets went on sale earlier this year. It is thought that the day passes will be snapped up within hours as T IN THE PARK is fast becoming the most anticipated festival this year.

Tickets which went on sale earlier this week via ticketmaster.co.uk, includes gigs for Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow and London. The tour ends with a hometown show in the Cardiff International Arena on Saturday 22nd July. See our listings for more details on the full tour.

Tickets for these shows which include Newcastle’s Metro Radio arena and Manchester’s Evening News arena, will go on sale this Friday 12th May from Ticketmaster.co.uk. The band will also be playing an exclusive T On The Fringe show at the Edinburgh Festival in August and a limited amount of tickets are still available.
Edited by Vex, 4:34 pm, 20th May 2006 | | Changes to DOWNLOAD FESTIVAL line-up - 5:50 am, 11th May 2006 | With just four weeks to go, the Download Festival is shaping up to be even better than last year as more bands are still being announced. FUNERAL FOR A FRIEND are moving from their original Friday slot and will now play directly before headliners GUNS N ROSES on the Main Stage on Sunday 11th June. Singer Matt Davies said: “We’re very excited to have the opportunity of playing before Guns N Roses on the Sunday at this year’s Download Festival. We have a great live history with the festival and are looking forward to ending our touring year on what I’m sure will be a high note and a weekend to remember for all of Funeral For A Friend.”
Other bands added include KHOMA who will open the Snickers Stage on the Saturday and ex-Queens Of The Stone Age bassist Nick Oliveri’s solo venture MONDO GENERATOR have also confirmed for the Gibson/MySpace stage for the same day. Day and weekend tickets are still available from Ticketmaster

Although the dates are still to be officially announced, we can confirm that they are scheduled to play Glasgow’s Barrowlands on 10th October and The Corporation in Sheffield on 17th October. It is also thought that they will include at least one Irish date in the ten day run. Keep an eye on our news and listings for confirmation of shows and more information as it becomes available.
